I am a passionate entrepreneur, philanthropist and advocate against gender-based violence. As a professional speaker I love to share stories that change lives. One of my favourite things to do is share stories and conversations on the trails with my running friends. In 2017 I founded and directed the Ignore No More Run for Respect, an awareness-building fund-raising event targeting men to open the discussion on healthy relationships.

Words I “groove” by

Passion, pride, and purpose are the three tenets I try to live by. One of my favourite quotes is from a motivational video. “Luck is the last dying wish of those that think that winning can happen by accident. Sweat, on the other hand, is for those who know it’s a choice”

The run community is amazing to me. Always supportive and encouraging, my community inspires me and shows me how to build and foster a sense of community in other areas of my life. I was thrilled to find that most I run with are there for so much more than just running. Camaraderie, stress relief, mental health, pushing limits, improving physical health. I am proud to be part of such an amazing community.

Why I love to Sweat

Challenge. If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. I love pushing my limits to see how far I can go. From 5km runs to 10km to half then full marathon distance I thought I had hit a pinnacle. I was wrong. In 2017 I completed a 30-miler and a 50-miler, and this year sights are set on my first 100-mile race.
